@benjaminspowell: The first app most homelab people install is Plex, But, there is an entire stack of apps that don't get mentioned that you Need, to truly go Netflix free. In this video were goi g to install an operating system onto a raspberry pi (Casaos) and lay the groundwork for our homelab media server. This is a first of a series. #homelab #plex #casaos
I'm gonna setup synology NAS for my summer home with this guide ✌️

Nope :
Would you be interested in doing a similar process but for complete beginners? Which raspberry Pi am I buying? what cables do I need? Will this work with any TV? I'm completely clueless but would love to get started on something like this.

I’m a very fresh newbie but I want in! I tried asking chat gpt for help but she led me down an error rabbit hole. Do you recommend this guide for a regular desktop im converting or is this OS for RPi only

Big rec for people starting out: check local education auctions for PCs being sold off. I got a stack of 8 HP elitedesks with 32gb ram and a 500gb NVME disk, intel 8th and 10th gen chips in them for $200 all in. It was a great start to my lab cluster.

Agree, it took me a long time to find out how they all worked. Would have liked a single clear web page outlining it all
