Scene 1 – The Request Narrator: Jesus told this parable. A man had two sons. Younger Son: Father, give me my share of the inheritance now. I don’t want to wait. Father (sadly): My son, are you sure? But if that’s what you want… (hands money). Narrator: The younger son took all he had and traveled to a far country. Scene 2 – Wasted Life Friends: (cheering, clapping) Let’s eat, drink, and enjoy! Younger Son: Yes, let’s party! I have enough money! Narrator: But soon, all his money was gone. Friends: (walking away) No money? Then no friends. Goodbye! Scene 3 – Hard Times Narrator: A famine came, and the son began to starve. Younger Son: I am so hungry! (feeds pigs, pretends to eat with them) Even the pigs have food. What have I done? Younger Son (thinking): My father’s servants eat better than this. I will return to my father and say, “I have sinned.” Scene 4 – The Return Narrator: The son started home. Father: (sees him from afar, runs) My son! You are back! (hugs him) Younger Son: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am not worthy to be your son. Father: Servants! Bring the best robe, a ring, and sandals. Kill the fattened calf! Let’s celebrate, my son was lost but is now found! Scene 5 – The Elder Son Elder Son (angry): Father, I have served you all these years. You never gave me a party! Father: My son, you are always with me, and all I have is yours. But we must celebrate—for your brother was lost and now is found! Closing Narration Narrator: Jesus told this story to show how much God loves us.
