it's not clever at all. it only shows that this superman is willing to risk human lives by not helping out. other people "handeling" a situation is never a guarantee. peoples lives are always at stake in a battle that happens in the middle of a city. the movie saves itself by simply just writing that everything okey regardless of following any logic behind the risky situation it sets up
