I don’t think it was to get the CEO out, but to punish the corporation as a whole. I’m assuming, and this is just me, to punish them forever even if DEI is reinstated. I do believe the loyalty stopped for Black folks, and I’m included in that, is gone.

Boycott isn’t over. The goal wasn’t the CEO to step down/ change its corporate culture. The goal was for other corporations to not follow Targets lead. Target won’t get my $$ and if other corporations want to gain shoppers by supporting DEI to then dropping DEI to gain favor with a racist oppressive regime, they will also lose my $$.

The goal is stop giving these corporations our money indefinitely. That’s it. Who cares if they bring back “dei”. People work too hard to give companies money that don’t even care about them.

I don’t understand why they don’t just go back to DEI, since that’s why we’re all protesting. Was a $12.4 billion loss not enough???

i think michael che made the joke about “if you were somebody you’d be at target”. I think target’s perception is still fine in the eyes of the 80k white woman. They not gonna go to Ross or Marshalls or walmart whatever. False luxury always sells well esp as the economy gets worse.

Not to mention it was stated in articles that the COO turned CEO’s main initiatives are to ensure that stores are better stocked, staffed and clean. There was no mention that there was even a thought about revisiting DEI policy. For retail Sept- Dec is the most important time for retail with back to school and holidays- I think this move is to try and ensure they drive people back in for the back end of the year to recoup early year losses.

Why stop as soon as progress starts? This is just the beginning. I honestly stopped shopping there for so long that I forgot why. This was my reminder to keep it up 💪

Nobody reads or looks into things these days. Target ending their collab with ULTA is super calculated and people are assuming it's just because of the boycott

Goal needs to be to make 10/12 of the board people who fit the “diversity” description. Until then- it’ll be the same and the boycott should continue.

They’ve grossly misjudged how hard we stand on business. The Montgomery Bus Boycott lasted 381 days. In a time when it was incredibly inconvenient to not use the buses. We’ve got options, disposable income, and free will. We couldn’t literally do this FOREVER. 😎😎. May they continue to lose revenue and profit. 🤷🏽♀️
