I feel like there’s some nuance to be had here. Going by how the fandom operates with the American understanding of race, Dani is racially white but her being ethnically Latina/Hispanic still otherizes her. If someone like Emily who’s the stereotypical “All American” Anglo-Saxon white girl made it into Katseye, Dani would instantly treated as the “Exotic Latina” by the public and fandom instead of the Token White girl that the current discourse is saying.

Latinos can be any color and have different features that aren’t “stereotypically Latino” people seem to forget this all the time we can be aware that Dani is white but not forget that she is still Latina as well :(((

honestly I feel like their whole cultural identities are very overplayed especially for the Americans. With dani specifically she very much just gives white american girl (and that's okay. With Manon I feel it's important to point out the fact she's biracial because even in dream academy they had no dark skin trainees. Pushing Manon imo is very regressive.

You could see it more when she was a kid & also when she’s standing next to someone else that’s white. People claim that Groups under kpop labels tend to have less “sauce” when a member is white. perhaps why emily & some others were voted out
