This is the very first painting I ever made that looks like “Where Light Lingers.” It’s just 8x10 inches, painted over five years ago on a quiet day when I had no idea where this art journey would take me. It was one of those rare moments where something clicked—like I had found a little piece of myself on the canvas. That tiny painting stole my heart back then, and recreating it now in a larger format—with more depth, more light, and all the growth I’ve carried since—felt like coming full circle. “Where Light Lingers” ends tonight at 6 PM MST. You can view and bid here: www.rivkawilkinsart.com I’m also tweaking how I release new work. I know it’s a lot to get multiple emails in one week—I feel it too. So going forward, I’ll be sharing two paintings per week, only on Tuesdays. I might change things again later (I’m still figuring it out), but I’m trying to find the right rhythm for me, my family, and for you. Talking with you during lives, hearing your stories, and watching you welcome these paintings into your homes—it’s meant everything to me. With rising costs and all the unknowns lately, every release comes with a wave of fear that I won’t make enough to keep going. But you always show up. You always pull through for me. Thank you—for giving me this chance in the beginning, for still being here now, and for whatever comes next. I truly can’t express what that means to me. Just… thank you. For everything. 🥹🥹 #WhereLightLingers #ArtThatFeels #OilPaintingAuction #ArtWithHeart #ArtCollectors #ContemporaryLandscape #ForestPainting #NatureInOil #RivkaWilkinsArt #GratefulBeyondWords

The First Day of Kindergarten 🖍️✂️🏫🚌📓📚 The first day of school, especially in Kindergarten, is something that no one can prepare you for! 😬 It is something that you just have to get used to with experience and know that every teacher and student is nervous for. The main goal of that first day is to keep them safe, feed them, get them home, and maybe sprinkle in some fun activities along the way! Even though this day is unpredictable, it is essential to have a game plan going into the day that allows for some structure, so here’s how I structure ours! As students arrive, they sit at a table and play with Playdoh. I choose Playdoh because it’s something familiar to them and will be engaging for 15-20 minutes! As they are playing, I call small groups over to teach hanging their backpack, cubbie system, folders, and lunch count. Once everyone has walked through their morning procedure, we work on carpet expectations and slowly make our way to the carpet for a short morning meeting. We then go on a crayon school tour to familiarize the students with the school, meet the faculty, and practice things like hallway expectations and bathroom! Once back in the room, I go over my crayon expectations and the students color a hat! After related arts and lunch, we read a story and make friendship bracelets to build fine motor skills and work on following directions. Of course we sprinkle in some play time, recess, snack, etc.! Almost all of these activities can be found on my TPT store! Although this may not seem like a lot, those first few days/weeks have to move slow so your expectations are clear. If you do the time to load the expectations up front, your year will be much smoother! #kindergarten #kindergartenteacher #classroomideas #classroommanagement #backtoschool #lessonplans
