@yaxyeali.00: The battle of Ḥunayn occurred after the victory of Makkah, in the month of Shawwal of the eighth year of Hijrah. News came to the Messenger ﷺ that the tribes of Hawāzin and Thāqif, as well as some of the smaller surrounding tribes of Makkah, were gathering forces to fight the Muslims. The Messenger ﷺ set out with 12,000 soldiers who, thanks to their strength in numbers, thought themselves unstoppable. During the journey, however, they were ambushed by the enemy in the valley of Ḥunayn. Many of the Muslim soldiers turned and fled, leaving only 80 to 100 companions fighting by the side of the Prophet ﷺ. Through this trial and the supporting angels, Allah tested the Muslims and revealed the true believers.
