Minimum wage jobs really try everything to control you. I literally gave a manager two weeks notice to not being able to fulfill a shift because I needed to be somewhere for that time and he said nah our policy says three weeks notice so you need to find someone to cover. MIND YOU I was new to this job so I didn’t have any numbers or know anyone’s names. I literally just did not show up. These jobs need humbled HARD

this was one the harder things for me to comprehend when i started working, i am calling out sick to prevent my coworkers or any customers from not getting sick out of respect, why does the call out policy make it seem like im trying to harm the business by calling out?

When I was a manager, I was the coverage if I couldn’t find someone. That was the trade off to having salary and benefits. Sometimes you have to step up.

As a manager, I only make my employees find coverage for their shift if they have like plans they want to attend. If they are legitimately sick, they call me and I will find coverage for them, even if it’s me.
