if we're talking fashion specifically I think it has more to do with its coming to an end everything on runways has to be weird and extra bc everything normal has been done before, but this isn't really new every art takes from previous works and makes their own it's really hard to tell what the culture of a time is until years later when you can put all the pieces together accurately

I am curious to see if any new subcultures will ever be created. The main ones (punk, goth, emo) are clearly never gonna disappear.
