@viktorija_artist: A peaceful political demonstration when two million people joined their hands to form a human chain spanning across the three Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the countries that were occupied by ussr at that time and expressed their strong desire for independence and solidarity among three Baltic countries. Seven months after the protest, Lithuania became the first soviet republic to regain independence and Latvia and Estonia followed shortly after. This was a collective call for freedom and the beginning of a collapse of the russian soviet union.
