Fluffy 🏴 :
I’ve been trapped in an abusive relationship for 10 years, and it has crushed every part of me. It began in Scotland, where he moved in quickly, cut me off from everyone I knew, and pushed me out of the family business I had worked in for 19 years. With no family left and nowhere else to turn, I became completely isolated.
He convinced me to leave everything behind and move to Tunisia with promises of change — no cheating, no lies, no flirting. I believed him and gave up the last security I had: my home. But nothing changed. For the last five years here, I’ve lived in the same cycle of abuse.
He cheats, lies, takes my money, mocks my body, and controls every part of my life. He locks me inside the apartment, forces himself on me, and makes me feel worthless. I work six days a week online just to survive, but I barely earn enough, and saving to leave feels impossible. Food has become my only comfort, because four years ago when I tried to buy alcohol to cope, he beat me black and blue.
Recently, I discovered he’s been seeing another woman who lives just one floor below, promising her marriage while secretly talking to multiple others behind her back. All the while, he still lives off me — calling me “babe” one moment and destroying me the next.
Every time I try to break free, he drags me back with guilt, fake promises, and emotional threats. He has kept me hooked emotionally while using me financially, draining every last bit of me. And still, some part of me has wanted to believe he could change — but deep down, I know the truth.
I’m saving what little I can in secret — £20 here, £40 there — desperate to escape. I fear going back to Glasgow and ending up homeless, but I fear staying here even more. I know that when I finally break free, I can never look back. No contact. Forever. Because if I let him in again, even once, he will destroy what little is left of me.
I don’t want to be used anymore. I just want peace.
