A 6 month engagement is a sham figure. It takes longer than that to book a venue, and it's considered a small notice period for guests. I bet they sign the intention to marry a year in advance and book a venue but don't count it until they hand over the ring.

What does the data say for who is more likely to get married at around the 6 month mark? That feels like an important piece here. Say religious people are more likely to get married at 6 months, well they may be more likely to stay together due to the religious aspect.

I agree shorter engagements lead to better results if you've already been together long enough. but how do you logistically plan a wedding in 6 months? 6-18 months seems reasonable
