@guilty.r3mnant: how much are we tipping on takeout?! i’ve scaled it back since covid but it feels mean lol #tippingculture #tipping #tippingthecashier
I’m not tipping for takeout anymore. Tipping culture is insane.

Not tipping take out because a service isn’t being provided . The cooks or take out workers packing the order receive an hourly wage.

Wow, shocked at how many people don’t tip on takeout lol. They’ve obviously never worked a lunch rush with multiple takeout orders (the worst). I can’t bring myself to do more than $5 because I’m not getting any back and forth service, but I do want to tip something. If I had a large order I’d tip more.

I only tip on takeout if it’s delivered to my house or they bring it to my car curbside.

I tip between 15-20% because at the end of the day I can afford to and don’t mind putting something in someone’s pocket

I have never tipped on takeout if I’m picking it up myself. If I eat at the restaurant 20-25%.

10% on takeout and 20% when we actually go inside and eat. Takeout they still are putting everything together so I still tip 10%

as a past server , i know how little goes into a take out order … i’m not tipping the same amount as if they were serving me in restaurant- agree with the covid era time ; but now it’s a 5% at best ngl

hi :
server here, takeout i do 10%. it’s more work than people think, but not a full sit down service. if i’m feeling generous i’ll do 15-20%. even if not 10% every dollar counts 🤗

To those who obviously never worked a restaurant. Those takeout people work hard and a couple bucks is at the minimum appropriate. If you can’t afford a place that requires tip, maybe you don’t need to be ordering it!

Okay so I worked take out for a chain and when I was take out I was making minimum wage not server wage so I was just doing my normal job for normal pay so take that as you wish I was making the 15/17 dollars the servers were making server wage and didn’t get take out tips
