when do i start this? my son is only a week old and i’ve been avoiding going on walks because of how hot it is. i’m very attentive to him, talk to him constantly and don’t try to put him to sleep unless if i see that he’s starting too but im a ftm and idk if im doing this right or if what im doing is enough for him.. should i start with sensory toys already or is it too early ? somebody helppp pls!!

I feel like I got the vibe he was bored too. It’s the same thing everyday for us so this makes sense. He probably wants change of scenery. And on the days we do something different or go out, he definetly gets better sleep at night.

Ok but what are we supposed to do when we are told babies need X amount of day sleep. It’s so incredibly exhausting learning all this!! So we get them out of the house, have them visit grandparents. We have to tell them, okay nap time in such and such time, yet we need them to get energy out. I just don’t get how to fit all that in PLUS keep a “nap schedule” lolol

My newborn gets bored. 😅 If I sit too long he gets huffy. So I get up, switch my hold, do a chore and then he’s sleepy. lol

So true!! Took my baby on a 1.5-2 hour stroller ride. had him looking around he even fell asleep on the walk! When he got home he still wanted to sleep some more :))

Went to put my baby to sleep and he wasn’t having it. Put him on his play mat for 5-10 mins. Then tried to put him back to sleep and he was out so quick!

This is so true. I walk my baby daily and try to take him somewhere in public daily; coffee shops, malls, outdoor shopping centers. He naps well!

when my baby gives me sleep cues and then fights me, i immediately put him in a play time of some sort. i don't understand how people just watch their baby on a monitor not sleeping in their crib for hours. they obviously aren't sleeping.
