Answer to some about reusing the 'slip'. The used slip and clay goes back into the tank. Slip in the tank gets checked for water content with a Hydrometer. Sometimes sodium silicate is added to the slip in the tank. The slip tank had a impeller to keep it mixed. The slip comes in bags that are in boxes.

my mom made one when I was young. I have it hanging in my bathroom with a light in it. I am pretty sure its the same mold without looking at it.
