My father loved humiliation (especially public). And lacked empathy. He viewed many as less than him (including racist opinions). He was the most paranoid man you could ever meet (Conspiracy theorist level). I remember watching him when i was a kid throwing tantrums whenever someone in the house disagreed or told him no. I will state he did love and he would show that from time to time. But that really depended on if you were in his good graces. Being as I developed BPD, I became obsessed with being his idea of a perfect daughter. It was quite the tornado of a ride. But sadly the only thing that made him gain an ounce of true empathy, was fear on his deathbed.
