I used to think nurses in hospitals made OK money until my husband started working contracts as a nurse in the IT department. His biweekly paycheck is over double what mine is. And they offer bonuses and pay raise is based on merit.

I understand where you come from. My ex was a an emergency nurse and worked her butt off. I convinced her to go back to school and become a doctor. 6 years later she’s a full pledged doctor. We talk more now than we ever did before. She had a bad 4 years marriage and I lost the love of my life 7 years ago. And we started talking again. She now tells me she’s even more stressful being a doctor than being a nurse. I worked 27 years as a State Trooper so I know all about stress. And now I’m stress free. I have no plans of ever being involved romantically with anyone. Money has never made me happy even though I’m financially secured now but I learned to live wholesomely through all my life experiences. Good luck and yes there is no substitute for family time.

my girlfriend says the same thing, i bet most moms do. I advise to simply maximize your savings. some people call it “f-you money” stocks earn money. i’m curious if your in Jersey, why not travel-nurse in california? work a fraction of the time for the same salary you’d get full time in your state.
