@timleesblee: the only 3 supplements you need to help you sleep 💤 I have nothing to sell you. but supplement companies do. I tried everything that’s supposed to help you sleep (even the ones you can’t get over the counter lmao) but these 3 are actually worth taking.
I take banana tea - boil a banana peel for 12-15 min and add honey. Knocks me out every time 👌🏽

i also used to be an insomniac! growing up, i’d spend hours laying in bed unable to fall asleep. this changed when school started getting so demanding that i could only sleep 2-4 hours a night. now i can fall asleep whenever

Fr apigenin and theanine are the only “sleep supplements” that even sort of work. Nothing compared to actual sleep medication but you can actually feel the relaxing effects. Especially theanine, I actually don’t like mixing it with coffee because I feel like it cancels out the effects. Magnesium honestly doesn’t do anything imo and I’ve tried all the salts. (Side note: Melatonin does work, just not for insomnia. Decent for when you have to change your sleep schedule if you don’t already have severe insomnia)

Thank you for putting this together. As a late night software engineer who's had too many late nights as a sysadmin fixing broken servers, this is great to know!

I used to struggle with sleep. I still struggle staying with the exact sleep cycle every night. But there are natural ways to help. Im sure you’ve tried these but A lot of it is your mind and mental health. Support that with exercise, reading, staying of technology after a certain hour and eating the right food. Staying busy for me was critical because I would simply be more drained by the end of the night.

i pavloved myself out of insomnia for a few years in my preteens by sleeping with a bar of soap with a really strong (and nice (lavender i think... )) scent next to my pillow! i would put it there only on nights i felt tired enough to fall sleep, and on those nights id also sleep with my head where my feet would normally be so the environment would feel different. after a few weeks id just keep the bar of soap by my head every night and id be out like a light:') it did wear off but it lasted much much longer than i ever expected!!! definitely worth a try for those who feel out of options. i have a feeling you can combine this method with zopiclone or other sleep meds for a quicker effect but id be careful about it🫡good luck to the sleepless

Have you tried eating a bunch of grapes? It has high magnesium content (the right kind for sleeping). Some of my best sleeps follow grape eating.

I take a prescription rn called trazedone for sleep. I only take 25mg rn but I’ve taken up to 100mg. 100mg i literally couldn’t fight and it forced me into my bed. The only side effect i noticed is increased grogginess in the morning if you aren’t getting roughly 8 hours of sleep a night
