@rebornswithreasons: In these moments, he isn’t just a resident in memory care. He is once again the doctor who soothed worried parents, calmed little ones, and carried a deep sense of responsibility for their well-being. The knowledge may no longer be spoken in words, but it lives on in the tenderness of his touch and the calm presence he brings. It’s a reminder that even as memory fades, the heart often remembers what mattered most.
it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize the baby wasn’t real

My coworker had a former dr. dementia patient who would get up and “do his rounds” checking on all the other residents in the nursing home. She would give him a clipboard and little tasks to help out ❤️

This reminds me of the cop I took care of in a memory care unit, he’d wonder around checking rooms and stuff. When you’d ask what he was looking for it was always the same missing little girl.😔

I saw a nurse comment that she had a resident who was a former night shift nurse. she would be up all night and instead of trying to force her to sleep, they would sit her at the nurses station to "chart" because it's just what she knew

I love how the baby is wearing 90’s style clothes. It was probably his prime time. 🥰

I had a patient with advanced Alzheimer’s that was a nurse she couldn’t talk and if you put your arm on the table she would check your pulse.

I has a little tiny lady, wheelchair bound, mother of 14. She had the habit of running into people with her wheelchair, zipping and zooming around the unit all day. We thought maybe a doll would help occupy her enough to keep her settled for a time throughout the day. We asked her to help with our "baby," she took one look at it and said, "what do you want me to do with that? I raised enough damn kids, ask someone else!"
Ok ma'am, fair enough 😵

I’m a reborn artist and I have thought about making a few to take to dementia patients to visit them! This just might motivate me to do it finally!

Had a former nurse at our LTC (memory care) who had severe dementia and she would always do rounds, and we had a specialized binder for her to do charting and write her notes, she would also be so pleased when families brought their babies in to visit their family member in our care, and would ask about how their progress was going for feeds and so on and would remember how much they’d grown. She would also tail us when it came to responding to call bells. 😅 Once a nurse, always a nurse. ❤️

This feels like a silly question but do the dementia patients ever notice the doll isn’t real? What do you do then? It took me most of the video to realize the doll wasn’t a real baby though so I’m unsure! The only give away to me was the doll not reacting…
