No. Dont do that. WD40 is not a lubricant. It will clean up the surface but it removes grease and lubricant oils.

mmmmm....some parts really need grease....silicone spray dissolves grease leaving it over time dry and vulnerable to water ingression....wd40 etc has a place sure....but....well.....
