I had Kyleena for five years and honestly, it was the best thing that I did for myself. I will say that there was no scares if you’re worried about that as far as the periods mine were very light I was only needing to wear a liner and they only usually last it three days. As far as the insertion, they usually tell you to take an ibuprofen 800 or something like that before you go and it’s really just a bad pressure and cramp for three seconds and it’s usually in and then as far as removing it same thing, just one big cramp and then it’s done so it’s really not that bad. But again everybody’s experience is different.🫶🏼

IUDs get stuck all the time or move out of place ! I scan GYN for a living and see it all the time, specially in young women for some reason ! My advice is to stick to the pastillita lol

I have the non hormonal copper ( mirena ) iud, I’ve had it for 6 years ( and no pull out game from my man, and we’ve been good 🤭 ) My period is to the T, monthly. My cramps and flow are KINDA heavier than before, but it’s worth it to not have to worry about pills or an injection, or the implant. I highly recommend it, my hormones haven’t been imbalanced, my acne hasn’t gotten worse cuz of it, i haven’t gained weight cuz of it. No bad side effects imo 🫶🏼

I had a copper IUD for 5+ years and it honestly never gave me any issues! I never felt it, it didn’t give me any symptoms whatsoever. I think it’s probably the best option for contraceptives!

i have pcos. had an iud a couple years back. i had my period for a full 170 days once i got it. My dr told me to wait 90 days that it was normal… i really wanted it to work so i kept waiting :/ & ended up having it for 170 days straight. I have super huge pain tolerance as well, but because my cervix is a bit smaller than most woman, i passed out when they put it in. IUD was probably one of the worse things for me atleast. Anyway, now i’ve been on the same birth control for about 3 years & it’s been great. period is regular.

I have the Mirena!! Cramps were ROUGH for the first 3 months and bleeding was long during that time too but after no cramps and barely any bleeding!!! If you have horrible cramps and heavy bleeding kyleena or Mirena is a great choice

i wanted no hormones after taking bc pills for 3 years and decided to get the copper one WORST thing i ever did gave it 9 months to see if my body would get used to it it never did. My caps are usually bad but with the copper one the cramps were literally the worst pain i have ever felt and i gave a pretty high pain tolerance then i switched to the skyla loved it i still always got my period monthly and didn’t feel sick or anything.

I got a copper IUD over a year ago, after being on different BC pills for over the course of 2 years and they were all affecting my body in so many negative ways. My cycle is regulat with the IUD & so far its been the best decision Ive made. I also track my cycle & ovulation with my Ultrahuman ring for more insights & extra precautions iykyk

I had the mirena for 5 years and it was honestly great i experienced no bad hormonal changes which is why i went for the option of mirena. i had horrible periods and it took those symptoms out and after 2 years of having the IUD i lost my period for the rest of my time with the IUD (3 years) which is a perk for me tbh, i took it out like 3 months ago because it was already expiring and not doing so good; i had a few effects since it was past due but def recommend. my hormones did go a little crazy now that i don’t have it but im def getting it again, i highly recommend

Had the copper one for 5 years and the only thing it gave me was low iron and heavy bleeding but period would only last 3 days. Other than that no complaints! 👌🏼

I have PCOS and the IUD destroyed my body. It’s progesterone only so you’ll lack estrogen which is essential for someone with PCOS

i would NEVER recommend it based on what i went thru. my first 8 months with it i had constant nonstop spotting. i ended up having to get it removed after 3 years cause it had moved it out of place and it was the most painful experience ever. also they say it doesn't hurt, THEY ARE LYING THAT SHIT MF HURTS!! i'd honestly recommend tracking ovulation cause birth controls nowadays are just a mess ngl. keep in mind it's different for everybody and all of our bodies are different and will handle things differently. good luck which ever route you take girly! ❤️

i was on birth control too and it messed me up super bad as well, my doctor recommended the kyleena iud (it’s one of the slower releasing hormonal iud) I’ve had it for about 2 years now and it did cause a small amount of breakout for the first two months but after that and besides that nothing else was affected in my experience. insertion pain was rough and some cramps for about a week or so, but in the long run I love it and it’s a great alternative to the actual pills (oh and my period is SUPER light but still regularly hits every month like it’s supposed to) it isn’t supposed to get rid of your period but all depends on your body & how heavy your normal flow is!

Love my arm implant she’s just hanging there my body hasn’t reacted bad to it and periods are irregular comes every two months so not too bad. My friend had the copper iud and she accidentally ripped it out with her tampon a couple weeks ago:/

GIRL DONT GET IT!! Trust me I was on pills and I got annoyed and stopped. then I got the Mirena IUD. And that was horrible. Took away my period for 2 1/2 years. I gained so much weight and I broke out so bad. I was also a hormonal mess. And then my IUD was moved still don’t know how that happened. But I ended up removing it and now I’m trying to heal all my symptoms that IUD unleashed lol. But my advice to you DONT GET IT!!. Also it’s painful when they first place it. It’s like really really bad cramps.

I’ve had the kyleena for like over two years now, not going to lie the insertion hurtssss but it’s only just for a few minutes max a couple hours. I was on bc pills too and completely messed me up as well. The iud makes you feel super protected, I have a regular cycle, but doesn’t help a lot with cramps, almost makes them worse at least in my experience. Speak to you provider though, cause I know kyleena is one of the ones with the least hormones but there’s some with even less
