This is exactly why ASIC has rules around unlicensed people giving financial advice... You’re quoting a 32.5% tax bracket that doesn’t even exist anymore, rates changed on 1 July 2024. You’ve oversimplified dividends by ignoring franking credits, which can reduce or refund tax depending on your marginal rate. You’ve told people they can ‘just claim it all back’ without mentioning the income threshold. That’s flat out wrong for most workers. Your capital gains example skips the Medicare Levy and the fact CGT is added to your assessable income, which can push you into a higher tax bracket. It’s not ‘finance made simple’, it’s outdated and misleading.
