The variety of designs and deities that can be found here show the interconnectedness of medieval Europe, and the belief systems of the craftsmen who built the church. I adore medieval churches, there is something about the sacredness of the place. The blend of different cultures and ancient pagan religions. They were usually built on already established sites of worship, usually on Celtic and Druidic sites in the British Isles.
