If your company hires new people in and then has to pay them a higher rate to recruit them, they need to adjust the teams salary to match the new hires because: 1. There are now laws against disciplining employees for salary discussion, so it’s going to come out. 2. When the people training the new people make less they will find out and be furious. 3. You will have turnover and ruin your company culture with this behavior. Be transparent, be real, adjust salaried to make it fair. Do it before the new hire starts, not after it’s already a problem.
