I use 2inch pipe and fill it with pebble rocks as a filter. Then put the hose very low so the water has time to filter and pass through .

Farmer here, trees do not absorb oxygen only by their roots they absorb oxygen through their roots, leaves, and bark to perform respiration for all living cells.
