@jake_blazona: Every semester you get 2 options: grind at the start and cruise during finals, or slack off early and stress yourself out later. The key? Handle business early. Turn in assignments, study for those first couple tests, and actually pay attention in class. Lock in from day one. And for hoopers, grades make you more attractive to coaches. If you handle your business in school, you’re making yourself cheaper and more trustworthy for them to bring in. Effort in the classroom is just like effort on the court, it all adds up. #school#student#athletes#studentathletes#foryoupage

Valedictorian here…facts. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. GRIND it out from the start.

Everyone is like “sending this to my high school kid”. Meanwhile I’m 33 and just started college this week. So I’m taking notes 😂

All you need to do is to keep that 90% from the first 3 graded assignments. Once you see it that 94%+ you’ll want to keep it that way, and you will

10/10 advice. It took me going back to college in my 30’s to learn this. Wish I had understood this when I first went!!

You have to maintain your grade from the beginning. Playing catch up is stressful. I’ve maintained a 4.0 as well.

I’ll say this and I’ll say it again. Syllabus, syllabus, syllabus. Don’t get into no class without understanding what the syllabus is. Read it and understand it.

I’m 32. Went back to school and just finished my first term. Work 40 hours a week as an abuse investigator and have 2 kids under 3. I got a 98.5% in math after not taking a math class for 14 years and a 102% in business (business major). It really is just how hard you work at it.

This is very true. I was a LAZY student in high school and graduated with a 2.5 gpa. In college I decided to apply myself harder and get as far into the syllabus as possible every week - I graduated with a 4.0 😁 Sharing this for the people that will say “you’ve always been smart” and use that as an excuse for why it won’t work for them.
