been a nurse for 10 years and I wouldn't mind learning some Spanish but when I walk in speaking English and they tell me I need to learn Spanish I get irritated because you need to learn English

It goes both ways cause if we have to learn Spanish they have to learn English and I have a little 10 they don’t wanna learn English so we have no choice but to learn Spanish to talk to them and that’s crazy as well cause you’re in the United States

ALSO…most medical terms come from Latin and if you learn Spanish it will be easy. E.X…Lung in Spanish is Pulmon and in medicine Pulmonary is a subject/prefix to do with Lungs.

Learning a second language is always great; however, please use your qualified or certified interpreters. This ensures that there is not breakdown in communication between the healthcare team and the patient. Do not become liable for miscommunication issues… this is a matter of safety!
