I also experienced this, a man that doesn't want anything but to let me feel loved without expecting any return. For 1 year of staying despite of knowing that I can't reciprocate his feelings, I decided to try and give him a chance, I entertained him and we've been knowing each other for another 2 years. I realized that I'm still not ready and to commit relationship and I felt bad for entertaining him without having clear visions and intentions towards him, it's like pinapa-asa that's why I end our communications and asked him to let go of me and move on, he deserves the real love and I know I can't give that yet. I still miss him tho but I know he'll be happier outside my cage.

i felt like bad for my admirers, even though i know i’m not really worth being "admired" by many. i once met an admirer who has never stopped admiring me until now. he is kind and he literally truly deserves a woman who will treat him better than he can imagine and i know that i am not that woman. i tried opening my heart to him, but I just could not. i feel guilty for not giving him a chance, but at the same time, i do not want to hurt him.
