I like your content .. American here .. you aren’t being biased .. you are stating facts .. and being open and fair to both sides .. is fighting in the diaspora is what they want .. conversations like these need to be had .. because culturally we are different ..

I’m starting to realise that British - American diaspora war is a communication issue. British- English communication is dry wit, sarcastic & & Americans read it as intentionally being condescending or rude? Even though that’s how everyone speaks to everyone, they assume we speak this way because we hate them?

Complaining culture is daily silent protest against the system. Because of aristocracy, the UK has never had our version of the ‘American dream’, upwards mobility is limited & class is determined by birth even when you earn more money. ‘Having a moan’ is rage against the system that just wants u to shut & be grateful.

spot on mate - i think on top of all of those things people in the UK tend to be more immersed (less so now which is causing a lot of issues) in their communities by design. so the design of housing, council estates, the welfare state, etc. which encourages people to have a wider world view just by default of interacting with the range of people within their communities. we also had things like a family doctor, who was usually a well respected member of the local community.

The way I’ve never heard this take before it’s like you got a thread and just weaved things so intricately together I feel like my frontal lobe developed!! The fact that ppl feel they can’t be racist due to us “all” basically being “working class” at the height of rebellion is such an amazing take (I hope I got it right)

I do appreciate the point you made about wanting to be smarter esp if you pose it against the American ideal of Egalitarianism. It’s good in that it allows all voices to be heard BUT I do think it contributes to the growing trend of anti-intellectualism here. I’m in New England (ironic?) where we value education because our Puritan grounding, but outside of the Northeast frankly I don’t think holds true. Those people only see value in knowledge as it pertains to utlility because of the nature of how they were founded (farms/industry). There are deeper roots but yeah. Tl;dr— you’re onto something and I think what you point out is def why we have a disconnect

You are so good at articulating yourself - this is so true and so fascinating, I have never heard anyone talk about this in this way.

I really like your video and it sums up the difference between black British people and black Americans black British people had to assimilate and because of that you guys were pushed into education the black Americans when we tried to assimilate in the first hundred years they killed us they burnt everything down and I mean everythingso now it’s at the point where we don’t wanna assimilate to them we actually hate them. We don’t care and I think that’s where the Diaspora war comes from because it’s a verge of understanding, but no one really understands from both sides if that makes sense.

Bomb fire night used to be Guy Fawkes night, a celebration of symbolicly burning down parliament, but the government changed its meaning, it's now burning Guy Fawkes on the pyer. It actually reminds me of what the government is doing now with outlawing protests and censorimg wiki and forcing online sites by forcing us all to do face recognition etc just to access the news. It's out of hand.

How do your peers online respond to this very thoughtful truth? The rage is so clearly misplaced and I actually am curious about what supports there are because America is such a container for that rage

" British" you mean English *. Welsh & Scottish "norms" are not the same. its why we say Scottish/ Welsh and not British- there are 3 countries on this island & we are different actually. lots of similarities its true but there are also some very important key differences & histories.
