For example, the Central African Republic, with return flights over $2,000, I opted to turn into a fun adventure. We crossed the whole of the Congo and took a wooden canoe up the Sangha River for 50 kilometers which ended up taking over 50 hours. It was hot, cold, and wet. We got bitten by mosquitoes, stayed with tribes, and just about made our way past an uncounted number of corrupt checkpoints.
