for Dante gimmick for the games is being impaled for Nero getting the arm stolen for Virgil fake deaths. if you play all the games you would see those gimmicks for those characters

Only thing I feel u was wrong about was Vergil being stronger then Dante because in 3 Dante loses yes but then he beats him in the end soo they are usually equal I say the anime will make Vergil stronger at first like in dmc 3 then Dante will beat him in the final fight
