With a population of 1 million people, largely Palestinians displaced from other areas of Gaza, the area has been intensely bombed and besieged by Israel's military as it prepares to take over the strip. In a press conference on Friday, UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher criticised the global inaction, adding that they had "repeatedly warned" of what was a "predictable, preventable famine" and yet the world had nothing to intervene.#un #israel #genocide #famine
