@bephiebucks: For those of you who are not familiar, Shai is on the spectrum and he has epilepsy. Shai has never been to school. He was non verbal and communicated with numbers and sounds only until he was four. I was not comfortable with him being in the school system. I wanted to make sure he could communicate FULLY before I put him in school. He has been in ABA therapy since he was 5 and is now capable of expressing what is going on around him. He is VERY articulate and he reads on the third grade level 🩷 I am so proud of how far he has come, but I can’t help but to be nervous about this transition. I have been his mouth piece since he entered this world at 12lbs. 13oz… I have been advocating for him since day one with all his health challenges… And now I have to let him go out into the world.
