because at the end of the day everything centers around men. gay men are taken seriously because they love men. bi men are assumed to be just gay. bi women are assumed to prefer men. lesbians might someday change their mind and really be bi, because who doesn't love men??? lesbians are treated poorly because we go against society's expectation of womanhood. womanhood is supposed to center around women's proximity to men. our ability to completely decenter men violates that. those that cannot decenter men assume that there's a chance any lesbian could fall in love with a man someday. they couldn't begin to comprehend, let alone respect, our complete lack of interest

As a 54 yr old lesbian, my sexuality is not fluid. 🤷🏻 I was once married to a man briefly and I knew THEN my sexuality isn’t fluid. I was just too scared to be out in the late 80’s/early 90’s.

I dont get why she can’t just say she’s bi. There’s nothing wrong with that. A lesbian realizing that she is attracted to a man means that she’s bisexual. Not that she’s a lesbian who met the right man. Lesbian is not fluid, bisexual is.
