I always think - it’s only ‘normal’ because everyone’s collectively allowed it to be normal. Babies cry for a reason so clearly we’ve not done enough work into colic

As a doctor, I can never understand how some pediatricians can say "Its just colic it'll be fine" when they see a baby like this, I will always recommend formula/diet changes and chiropractors etc until we find something that helps! My heart goes out to all moms who experience this...

It isn’t normal and I refused to normalize it. I kept fighting, I kept doing research, I made them test his stool sure enough CMPA, acid reflux, forumla change 3 times now & on elecare. Chiropractor, baths, massages, exercises. Finally a happy, relaxed, calm baby who doesn’t cry 24/7 of pain. 8 weeks old now, I will never accept the words that’s just a baby.

There are simply no words for how traumatic colic is. I truly don’t know how I made it out when I think back to those days. I truly believe I have PTSD 😭 great job, mama!❤️

I remember the day the colic stopped for my son (and me). It just went. He was about 13 weeks old and just stopped screaming all day. He’s 16 now and just picked up his GCSE results. You’re doing everything right. No notes x

My daughter was like this too. She should have had a tongue tie release but we ended up with acid reflux medicine (which worked temporarily). I now know the tongue tie at 7 YO and keeping it from growing back was so important. She’s 12 and thriving. Hugs mom - you’re doing so many great things.

It’s exhausting and it physically HURTS your heart seeing them so distressed. It isn’t talked enough about how much trauma their little bodies can go through during birth, which can in turn lead to colic! CMPA is another big factor, and there is little to no support with most general doctors, it can be a lonely road feeling robbed of those first few months but here we are still showing up for our babies, well done mama 🤍
