I had to fully change banks to get my father off of my account 🤦🏼♀️😂 I tried to ask and they were like “…is he dead? Because that’s the only way he’s coming off this existing account” 😭

In college 2018 I would get my leftover fafsa money into my account. Forgetting my mom could see it, she one day asked what I was gonna do with that $900 I got cause "some of it goes to me." I made sure to kick her off when those checks started going up to $2k so she couldn't touch it. Fast forward to 2024, my bf buys my car for me so I don't have to take a loan with my poor credit and says I can slowly pay him back. We keep this as a secret from his mom (he's 31 btw he just doesn't wanna hear her complain) but she is suspicious. My mom then reminds me of the fact that his mom may still have access to see his account (she said she was asking questions trying to pry; our moms have been friends for 20+ years) if he made it when he was 16. I told my bf to check and she was right that his mom was still on the account and my bf had to close the account and make a new one to get her off. Also made him mad his mom would go that far to snoop because she HAD to know for some reason. His mom said he got a letter and she opened it saying he made changes to his bank account (her address was still on the account for him) and he ignored her. My mom also denied ever snooping in my account when I told her "Oh yea, I had to kick you off for doing something like that." So yea, remember at 18 to adjust those accounts 😅

lol had to do this for our daughter too, but they have never asked us to remove ourselves from their accounts. They are 28 and 27.🤣

When I was 22 I asked my mom to sign to be removed she refused so I had to pull all my money out and change banks

My mom is the only one with online access to my account because of this. We’ve tried repeatedly to get her off and get it fixed. I’ve just been too lazy to switch 💀💀 this year though I swear 😂

At 22 I moved to a state where we don’t have the bank that my mom opened for me when I was a kid so I closed the account and opened a new one at a different bank. She called me asking why I didn’t ask her permission to close it😂
