I've been using 0000 steel wool and foaming glass cleaner for over 20 years to clean my glass, not once has it scratched and I always have crystal clear glass.

Glass cleaner, microfiber, soapy water, clay bar, mother's wax, in that order. I do it once a year on my vehicles. Never have to clean my windshields, water beads off. I swear by it

you know there is plastic on both sides of the glass. its protective layer to stop the glass from shattering when in an accident so you're not cleaning the glass. the steel wool does not damage glass it damages the plastic outlayer of the glass.

My grandfather taught me to use newspaper to clean my windshield. Works like a champ.

Truck driver here, 0000 steel wool will not scratch glass, I’ve been using it for years! I like to unroll them and slap on top of gas station windshield squeegee. Use them on the mirrors, inside outside. Doesn’t matter, you want brand new windows 0000 steel wool…
