what does this projection sacrifice, though? that's the interesting part that you left out completely. any projection of a globe to a flat surface loses something in the process

I’m confused, do people still use paper maps? All the maps I use are digital and are globes once you zoom out which realistically makes the most sense to me.

honestly i think it would be best to have multiple maps displayed and actually teach children about map projection so that they can understand the size/shape/direction of the world better

if you want accurate sizes USE A GLOBE! if you're trying to get somewhere, use a mercator map. it's not that complicated
