Dylan gets some degreaser and wash that whole engine bay down so you can see what your working with. I’m an Aussie and we have a lot of these. I think it’s the distributor. They are relatively cheap to replace and notoriously bad. Good decision on getting Mako to paint truck think it’s worth it.

Judging by what is happening I’d say to have the starter tested…if u have a buddy, tap the starter a bit with a hammer while they turn the key…not sure if u tried it yet but might want to test the alternator… might not have enough umph to start it…just some things to try and get it working…

Check for spark and make sure its getting fuel in there. Fuel filter maybe be clogged too if fuel isnt getting to engine

Check the fuel line. Clean the carburetor since you cleaned out the fuel tank.

Distributor is definitely a possibility, but you should make sure fuel is getting up to the rail. Could be plugged or there may still be old gas in the rail. Also it's likely you burned out the starter

Knock the starter mode when you’re trying to crank it. Starter motor might be a bit tired and check if your distributor cap is in good condition. I’ve got a petrol and distributor cap was stuffed so replaced it now starts well.
