New skill #1 of 52: Baking bread Just flour, water, salt, and yeast… who knew something so simple could be such an upgrade? 🥖✨ This artisan bread recipe is easy to make and delivers a crusty loaf that feels like it’s straight from a bakery. Here’s the breakdown: ▫️ 500g bread flour
▫️ 350ml warm water
▫️ 7g instant yeast (or 10g active dry)
▫️ 10g salt
▫️ Optional: 5g sugar for yeast activation Mix → Knead → Rise → Bake → Enjoy. 🍞 Takes about 2-3 hours of rising Shape and let rise again Pre-heat oven (with pot inside) Bake at 450F for 25 min, lid on Then take the lid off and bake until brown edand crusty (20-30+ min depending on preference) Rest for 30 min Slice and enjoy ✨ Tips:
– Preheat your Dutch oven/stainless steel pot for that perfect crust.
– Don’t slice too soon! Let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
– Got leftover dough? Store it in the fridge and bake later for an even tangier flavor. – Mix the warm water and yeast (and sugar) and the water should foam which means your yeast is active.
– I use bread flour for the dough, not regular baking flour. Sprinkle some flour on top right before you toss it in the oven.
– Add some hot water in a pan or glass while rising the dough and while baking to simulate the humidity of the dutch oven. – Dip your hands in cold water before handling the dough so it doesn’t stick to your hands. Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked bread in your home! 🏠👨‍🍳 Feel free to critique or drop more tips in the comments. #ArtisanBread #BreadMaking #NewSkillSunday #homebaking
