They were never taught how to heal, so they hand you their unhealed wounds. The turning point for me was when I stopped resenting my parents and started seeing them as humans with their own pain. Through therapy, psychedelics, inner child healing, and learning to see things from a bird’s-eye view instead of emotionally reacting, our relationship got stronger. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means setting boundaries, re-parenting yourself, and understanding their pain isn’t yours to carry. It’s not easy, but it’s possible. And when you let go, you get free.
