3000 mile on synthetic oil change absolutely not. I’ve done my synthetic oil change every 5000 miles and I’ve got 313,000 miles on my car and not a single problem with my engine for oil leak.

So I’ve never understood the oil burning in the engine, I have an oil temp gauge and it never goes past halfway, full synthetic didn’t, regular never went past. Is regular oil still burning in my engine?

My Hyundai dealer told me every 7k miles on a brand new car I looked at him and gave him an eye cause to my knowledge it’s every 3k and he told me no ! I was mind blown

It used to be 3k miles with conventional oil and that’s what mechanics or motors to get money on oil changes etc. synthetic oil has changed the game. You can go at least 5k miles before needing to change. If you do a LOT of stop n go driving or only do short trips then yes you need to do sooner. If you drive a lot like 15k miles a year you can go 7500 miles easily before needing to change. Amsoil you can do 15k miles safely.

You still need to check the oil level periodically. If they burn oil and run low, they get this way from the heat.

Oil is very refined these days and does last 7500miles. More than likely they were not changing the oil
