I think the issue was that she left a voicemail saying she would k*Ll the girl if she came to her house, so she already had it in her head she was going to do that when she pulled up

Prison sentencing never make sense. A guy grape multiple women he get 4 year and only actually does a couple of months for "good behavior" a poor person steals some food because they are hungry they get 4 solid months, a rich men steals millions of dollars in some type of fraud, he get two months.... ¯\_(O_O)_/¯ There as never been any consistency between the severity of a crime and the duration of the sentence.
