We've always cut out top out of our trees before skidding. We have a smaller machine to skid tops up to landing for our firewood processor.

we got an 848l2 and a 748g3 i can go all day on a half a tank in the 848 which is 50 gallons that 748 i can go all day on maybe 1/3 of its tank which is like 30 gallons it will pull just as much as that 848 burning less fuel and the bill for fixing that 848 is 10 times higher WITH WARRANTY than that 748 newer equipment is a joke nowadays after all the electronics. just like when the motor went out in your bell if that happened on a newer machine you might as well forget it if you ain’t got warranty even with warranty they’ll fight tooth and nail over covering it
