I mean. . . Not a therapist, but this feels like it triggered a trauma response to being laughed at by everyone and not being in on the joke. A lot of people wouldn’t have been angry like the groom, but at the end of the day, your emotions aren’t good or bad. They just are. I’m sure the wife didn’t know that this would unlock so much anger and hurt.

It’s simple, it’s the same as wedding cake in the face. It ruins the time of the person the celebration is supposed to be about. It may be a “joke” but there are appropriate times for pranks. Same as when those dudes shove cake in their brides face, it’s an inclination of future events and what the partner thinks is appropriate and what they think about the other person.

People forget its the guys day to and on a day of celebration what guy likes to be made a full in front of his whole family. Change it around and have any bride made fun of in her wedding dress. how well do you think that will go over.

This dude needs a vacation from her to really get to the bottom of how he feels. Because he’s definitely not standing up for himself. She purposefully humiliated her husband on day zero of their marriage. How HORRIBLE IS THAT?! She owes him the biggest apology or the dude needs to walk and end it. Pranks are usually done because they want a reaction, that first immediate response. Which is usually shock, humiliation or anger. Even if the target laughs after, if they didn’t give that first response the prank is considered a failure. What type of person wants that? For someone they claim to love.

The anger you feel is legitimate. Your "wife" went along with this willingly. it's hard to trust her anymore, the fact that this happened and a profession planner encouraged this to happen is horrible. Your feelings are valid, don't let anyone tell you how you feel.

I would totally do this at my wedding, however, he would actually be taking the garter off me, I'd just switch seats with whoever it is before my groom takes off the blindfold....I think that would've been much better than what they did here
