when i took honors english in freshmen year, my teacher was JUST like this 😭 she also was the type to favor popular boys but ACTED like she favored "quiet students" since she was one in school..

As a teacher though there’s nothing more annoying than an honors kid who is used to getting 98s on every essay in middle school then coming to 10th grade honors and thinking I’m the meanest person alive for teaching/correcting passive voice and not allowing them to say “this quote shows”

I know one size doesn’t fit all, but I observed that SOME of these teachers were the “mean girls” in their high school years who made fun of kids that didn’t conform to social expectations. I feel like that explains why some are “passive-aggressive” and are very subtly bullying students who need help with anything.

I hate “cool” teachers like please enforce a strict student-teacher boundary and stop trying to be our friends. Bc when you don’t want to be their friends it’s like they treat you differently from other students.
