Snape in the book I felt like he loved harry in his way he just wasn’t able to let go of the hate he had for James I mean harry named his kid after him wormtail was much worse than snape even lupin was kind of a almost a deadbeat dumbledor was down with dominating muggles until his sister died snape was a hero and sacrificed everything to beat Voldemort

Spider-Man is absolutely right, he's not a good person. Even if we forgive him for how he treated Harry, he was just as much of a jerk to Hermione, and to Neville Longbottom, and to the Wisleys. He was a school bully disguised as a teacher.

Snape’s objectively a bad person - there’s no argument for that, but it’s whether subjectively you think his ‘reasons’ (being abused, bullied, etc) are good enough to redeem him. Personally, I don’t and therefore I think Snape is a bad person
