my daughter has this on her top. her baby tooth wouldn't come out. she had a tooth growing horizontally between her baby tooth root and her adult tooth and they surgically removed it in March.

Dentist here. Problem with teeth like this one is that there’s a little chance they could turn into a cyst and damage the surrounding bone & teeth

Hey this happened to me in 23! Recovery wasn’t bad, obviously sore but not the worst thing ever. I personally would just go ahead and save yourself the trouble and get the surgery. If that tooth shifts then it will knock out the rest of your teeth. Picture for proof.

My daughter had a tooth like that and we did have to pull it up. It was about a 15 month process and it was absolutely INSANE to watch it be pulled up.

ortho assistant here - easiest, fastest, and cheapest option would be to extract the baby tooth and then get lower braces to close the space. braces will be faster than invisalign if it’s for space closure

Hii! I’m a hygienist in a periodontal office. I’m obviously not a Dr lol, but we see these situations quite often. Personally, I’d recommend leaving the impacted canine as it is, and here’s why: 1. Many people have impacted teeth (wisdom teeth, canines, or premolars) and live their whole lives without issues, even into their 80s without ever needing surgery! 2. The tooth looks very close to the inferior alveolar nerve in your lower jaw. If that nerve is disturbed during surgery, it could cause temporary or even permanent numbness on the lower left side. 3. There are simple alternatives for replacing the baby tooth, such as a Maryland bridge, an implant (not as intimidating as it sounds), or even braces. If you have any questions let me know I can also ask my boss he’s been doing this for 37 years!!

Dentist here. Your loose tooth is a baby tooth. The real canine is in your jaw. Wayyyy down! Possible an implant. Also. Your upper second molar may be lost as well. Severe bone loss.
