What else is out of hand? Is how when you go to the register I want you give money to some organization. I’m a truck driver so we go to gas stations constantly am I really supposed to give money constantly to different organizations?

The employees use that as a form of income that they pay a lot less people can't live off of the their wages, they have to have some tips

It’s relentless. And needs to stop. I tip well for great service. If I am picking up my own food, no tip. Simple. Tipping screens are in every place now. Not just for food. It’s everywhere.

it depends on if you are doing a waitress and you are giving good service, then yes. if i am at McDonald's type environment then no.

People are fed up with the entitlement. Tips were never meant to be a substitute for fair wages or a loophole for employers to underpay their staff. The original purpose of tipping was to reward service that went above and beyond—not just to hand out extra cash because someone clocked in. Showing up isn’t exceptional—it’s the baseline. If you want a tip, earn it by delivering a great experience, not by expecting it as a given.
