@sarahfarrens5: My name is Sarah, and I’m posting this as the start of my healing journey. This is me holding myself accountable, speaking my truth, and hopefully reaching others who are still minimizing their abuse the way I did. I’ve been stuck in this cycle of chaos for 17 years. Seventeen years of gaslighting, trauma bonding, and control. Sixteen years of suffocating under someone else’s manipulation, waiting for him to validate me, to finally say he was sorry, to finally be the man I fell in love with. But it doesn’t work that way. You can’t fix someone who doesn’t want to be fixed. You can’t heal inside the same place that broke you. And you can’t keep waiting for someone else to hand you the validation that only you can give yourself. I am taking back control of my life. I cannot be the mom I’m meant to be or the authentic version of myself while under his control. I couldn’t breathe—but now that I have fresh air, I’m healing. I’m breaking the trauma bond. This is my key to not going back. By telling the world my story, I hope to show others the depths of what abuse really does—the way it rewires your brain, hijacks your body, and convinces you to survive instead of thrive. If this resonates, please share your story too. Let’s heal together. Let’s get our fucking lives back and live the rest of our days thriving instead of just surviving. All the time, energy, and effort we put into these toxic relationships doesn’t mean we were weak—it shows how strong we are, how big our hearts are, and how much hope we carry for others. But strength isn’t staying in the abuse—it’s walking away from it. I waited 17 years for validation from him. It never came. And it never will. Now, the validation comes from me—and from the survivors who stand up and say, “me too.” This is me saying: I’m done. I’m healing. And I’m not going back. 💙 Follow me for the truth about what is happening to your brain and body while under control of a narcissist who also goes into psychosis. It's not easy to break the trauma bond but it can be done. If you want to feel alive again, take these steps with me to break through the chains holding you back from living the life you were meant to live. #TraumaBonding #NarcissisticAbuse #SurvivorStrong #HealingJourney #BreakingFree
